DECOMED has an organic footprint. The Company’s history revolves around the development of biological matrices for tissue regeneration, with an ongoing commitment to the design of unique and reliable products.
In 2012, BRAXON®, the first porcine acellular dermal matrix for complete breast implant wrapping, was born. Before its introduction, reconstruction was performed by a submuscular or two-stage approach. This involved detachment of the pectoralis major muscle leading to greater invasiveness, functional loss and a longer recovery period.
The adoption of the immediate prepectoral technique with BRAXON® has revolutionized the paradigm by offering numerous advantages: a less invasive procedure, reduced risk of postoperative complications, protection from capsular contracture, a more natural effect, and increased patient satisfaction. This evolution has made prepectoral reconstruction with BRAXON® one of the most cutting-edge approaches in reconstructive breast surgery.
